Hopkinson Mining recently handed over a quantity of balls and other training gear to the Slingerz
Football Club (FC) as the team prepares for which ever end of the year football tournament that comes.
The club, which is just two years old, has so far built an impressive track record of its own with the biggest accomplishment to date being the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Banks Beer Cup which it won last year.
It was the team’s first outing at the three year-old tournament and upon accepting the donation from the mining company, Javed Ali, Slingerz FC President expressed delight in receiving support from corporate Guyana.
According to Ali, it’s his team’s aim to be Guyana’s top football club and as such, support from the corporate community is important which makes Hopkinson Mining’s contribution very important.
