The Cavalier’s Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC) staged an event in commemoration of Education Month September 28 last. Activities commenced at President’s College, proceeded to the Golden Grove Market and back to the place of origin.
President’s College student, Shemon Gittens, copped the honours just ahead of Enoch Alicock and Dyrel Sancho; Gredille Benjamin finished in the 4th place slot. Jennel Gildarie was the first female to cross the line with Dashana Reid, Jennifer Park and Anasa Williams finishing in that order.
The winners and runners up were lauded by CS&TC Coordinator, Jennifer Major, who urged them to continue pressing on in anticipation of selection on a national racewalk team to the 2016 Brazil Olympics.
Ms. Major also acknowledged the input of Public Service Minister, Jennifer Webster, in this event and said that her financial input has resulted in the successful staging of more than 50 events and two camps for junior race walkers. The event was also sponsored by Ansa McAl and Hand in Hand Insurance.
