Supreme got the better of host Vergenoegen by 84 runs when action in the Mohamed Memorial 40-over cricket competition continued on Sunday last on the East Bank of Essequibo.
Batting first, Supreme posted 164 before they were bowled out in 27.2 overs. Rajiv Balgobin led with 38 and Javed Shafeek made 30. Medium pacer Amir Bissoondyal grabbed 4-44, Royden Hendricks 2-11 and Dwayne Stevens 2-19.
The home team were bundled out for 78 in 19 overs in reply. Ian Boodwah and Stephon John were the only batsmen that showed fight with 19 each; medium pacer Safraz Ally bagged 4-14 while Sheldon Alexander and Shafeek had one each.
The competition continues on Sunday.
