Siblings Peter and Rondell Daby have both expressed confidence of dominating tomorrow’s Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club International Drag race Meet scheduled to be held, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Peter, who spoke on behalf of the brothers, told this newspaper that they will be taking no prisoners tomorrow, and all opposition, should take note.
Peter, who drives a power-packed Mitsubishi Evolution 7, said the car is in excellent shape and he expects good results even with the presence of competitors from neighbouring Suriname.
The slim-built racer even reminded this newspaper of his brother’s ability which has allowed him to become a champion and according to him they are ready to defend the title.
Rondell, according to him will be piloting two machines, one being a Toyota Supra and the other a Mitsubishi Evolution.
Daby further disclosed that they are coming off a successful tour of Suriname last month and are brimming with confidence both in terms of their own form and the reliability of the cars.
Commenting on the rising popularity of this segment of the sport, Peter said it is making a strong claim right now, enjoying better organisation and competitors who’re willing to spend the cash to make their machines highly competitive.
The Superbikers are also expected to add to the excitement and Stephen Vieira, Carlos Rodrigues, Carey Griffith will be looking to not only outdo each other as they battle for outright supremacy.
Additionally, race fans will have the opportunity to witness the Porta Tree Timing System which is equipped with specialized starting lights that allow quarter mile speeds to be recorded.
Races commence at 09:00 hrs and admission for adults is $1000, while children are $500 and vehicles free.
