A number of sponsors are on board for the Kennard Memorial Turf Club/ PPP C feature meet slated for tomorrow, at the track at Bush Lot Farm Corentyne Berbice.

Most of the major players and sponsors in the horseracing fraternity, including the three big beverage companies, have already inked their names to be a part of the day’s activity which is expected to see pulsating action.
Among the slew of major sponsors on board so far are Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Demerara Distillers Limited, Ansa McAl Guyana Limited, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables, Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff Business entity and Racing Stables, B K International, Berbice Bridge Company, Limacol Brand, Peter Lewis Construction, Fazal Habibulla and Dennis DeRoop among others.
On Thursday the principals of the Shariff racing stable presented a sponsorship package to the organisers of the meet at their racing stable No 6 West Coast Berbice.
When entries closed on Tuesday 7th more that 75 horses had entered for the 10 race meet with close to $8M in cash, incentives and other prizes up for the grabs, including the President’s Cup and the General Secretary trophy.
The A class event will see the country’s top runners in renewed battle for the top prize with Score’s Even once again heading the list. However it is expected to be tested by the two horses that have beaten it this year in California Strike and Treacle where they will race for a sumptuous $1.5 M winner’s pocket from a total package of $2.9M over 1600M.
Those entered for the mouth watering event are Score’s Even, California Strike, Treacle, Run Nana Run, Princess She is Not, Grande De Roja, Church House, Dark and Lovely and Monsoon. The other event on the day’s card are the D3 event for non-winner in 2014 and E & Lower for a winning take of $600,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The G1 and lower 1400M event has $400,000 available for the winner’s along with a trophy.
The two year old West Indies Bred 1000M event for a winner’s money of $300,000 and trophy.
There is also a race for G3 non-winners in 2014 over 1400M for a $300,000 purse and trophy.
There is also a race for Guyana Bred two years old animals which has a first prize of $200,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
The horses slated to compete in the ‘I’ and lower event will race for a winning take of $220,000 and trophy over 1400M. The J1 and lower animals will race for a winning money of $200,000 and trophy over 1000M. The event for J3 and lower horses has a top prize of $180,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
The final event which is also a 1000M event is for horses classified K and L and lower for a winning take of $140,000 and trophy.
Top individual performers will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organizers.
