Kelvin Johnson and Lionel D’Andrade took to the podium again in Trinidad and Tobago, finishing second and third this time around at the Palo Seco Credit Union annual 5Km Road Race on Sunday.
Trinidadian Curtis Cox stopped the clock at 18:59 to win ahead of Johnson, who finished in 19:45, while D’Andrade ran 20:21 for third Sunday morning. The duo had dominated back-to-back 5km races last week.
Later Sunday afternoon at the East Asia Society of Trinidad & Tobago Chancellor Hill two miles race, the duo was at it again with Johnson reaching the top of the hill in 12:29 with D’Andrade following in little less than a minute with 13:26; Shane Barran (13:50) of Trinidad & Tobago finished third.
The October race calendar remains rigorous in Trinidad. This weekend the two Guyanese are expected to compete in back-to-back races on Saturday; the TCL 6Km race in the morning and Arcelor Mittal 5Km at in the afternoon.
