– top performers rewarded
A successful month of sport activities that involved staff members of the Ministry of Home Affairs Brickdam concluded last Monday, with Junior Maynard of the Stray Catching Unit winning Chinese Checkers.
Maynard defeated Chadwick McGarrell of the same department to win the West Indian Sports Complex sponsored event.
Four disciplines were contested during the month of September, Stacey Joseph of the Accounts Department won the Trophy Stall sponsored Open dominoes competition; Gordon Smith of Parole Board was the victor in the Draughts competition and received the Digicel trophy, while Gavin Kellman and Wrenesa Williams of the Information Technology and Accounts Department respectively, won the male and female Whist competition that attracted sponsorship from Woodpecker Trophies and Sports.
Organiser of the events, Ovid Glasgow (DSM) said that it is designed to strengthen the camaraderie among staff members of the ministry and has been achieving its goals over the years.
“This is something that will continue to take focus at this ministry since sports also helps to bring people together. I admire the enthusiasm that is shown by these members of staff at the activities and this motivates me to keep going.”
Glasgow extended gratitude to all members of staff who participated and the Honourable Minister Clement Rohee foe his continued support in making the activities a reality. Thanks were also extended to the business community for their continued partnership, West Indian Sport Complex, The Trophy Stall Bourda Market, Digicel, Woodpecker Products and Sports.
