– hunt for fourth man continues
Police are still on the hunt for the fourth man who is wanted in the New Amsterdam Prison fracas that occurred on May 23, last, even as the other three accused made their second court appearance in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court.
Alan Samaroo, called ‘Scare Dem’ of Angoy’s Avenue, was among four high profile prisoners (part of a gang) implicated in the incident which left four other inmates (part of another gang) seriously injured.
Samaroo, who was incarcerated at the time on a charge of robbery under arms, was subsequently released from prison before charges were filed in the matter. He subsequently disappeared from the jurisdiction and has been on the run since.
The other men who were implicated with Samaroo and made their second court appearance yesterday are gang leader Randolph Rodrigues called ‘Shoulders’ who is in jail on a charge of murder; Jason Mc Kenzie called ‘Psycho’ also in jail on a charge of murder; and Colwin Cort called ‘Dutchie’ who was on remand on a charge of wounding.
The men appeared yesterday before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs Marcus and were further remanded to jail. They are scheduled to return to court on October 14.
