Dear Sports Editor,
I would like to clear the air on an article published in the Guyana Times on the 23rd September, 2014 under the heading “Draft Horse Racing Legislation” Arbitrary and mull and void.
A portion of the article stated that on June 28th 2014, aggrieved members of the G.H.R.A passed a vote of no confidence against Mr. Oudit at a special meeting held at the Bush Lot United Turf Club.
This is totally incorrect. The meeting scheduled for that day was called off for a later date. Some members showed up anyway for self-serving reasons.
One member said to the others, since we cannot have a meeting for the lack of an agenda. We can have a discussion.
No meeting took place and various topics were discussed.
There was no special meeting it was just a discussion. I did not vote for these people because they never supported Bush Lot United Turf Club.
Note: The President of the Racing Authority must be a neutral person.
The President must not be affiliated with any race track or own race horses for him to be fair.
