– corporate, civil society also participate
Courts Guyana Inc. staff took on the in-house challenge of the 3km Health Walk/Jog
aspect of the annual Courts 10km Road Race Sunday morning with Marketing Manager, Pernell Cummings in the midst, but unfortunately failing to earn a podium place.
Notwithstanding his performance in the race, Cummings was heartened with the turnout so much so that he committed to hosting a fifth edition next year. The entries for this year’s race exceeded all previous years.
“Courts is encouraged to do this again next year, we hope it will be bigger than this year, and this year was huge. I want to thank you for supporting us these 21 years,” Cummings said, as the race is held annually in September, Courts’ anniversary month in Guyana.
Courts awarded the ‘First Place Courts Finisher’ in the 3km ‘Health Run’, which was set for staff and the corporate and civil society. The top finisher pocketed $20,000 while the second and third place finishers received $15,000 and $10,000 respectively.
In the female category of the Courts 3k race, Mark Hilliman won ahead of Kheon Evana and Joel Hunte respectively while last year’s winner, Kevon Cummings placed fourth. Faith Ward topped the females with Ayean Roberts second and Kayeanne Hall-More third.
The 3km Health Run included Participants from a wide-cross section of society, which included the corporate community and diplomatic corps.
