Special Olympics Guyana in collaboration with the National Sports Commission will be hosting a swimming course at the
Colgrain Swimming Pool for staff from Special Schools. The Swimming course started yesterday and will continue each Friday until October 31, 2014 (8weeks) from 13:00hrs.
The objective of the swimming course is to produce swimmers proficient to conduct swimming sessions for their respective institution.
Currently, most institutions are faced with the challenge of funding for Swimming Instructors to conduct aquatic sessions.
A total of twelve participants representing Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, Special Needs School East Bank Demerara, St. Barnabas Special School and David Rose School for the Handicapped will be part of the programme.
Ms Stephanie Fraser will be conducting the Swimming programme which is organized by Mr Wilton Spencer.
