The nation’s top draughts players will match moves in competitive action when the Guyana Draughts Association hosts the Annual Championships at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue. Activities got underway Sunday September 7 last when players competed for honours in the ‘B’ Class category and continue next Sunday, September 14 with action in the ‘A’ Class category.
Players will rest for one week and return to contest the hundred squares category on Sunday September 28 and according to the organizers, all categories would be contested on a round robin basis. Registration for the respective tournaments begins at 09:30hrs in the morning, while the first draught would be moved half an hour later.
