As promised, Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken donated a number of food items to the relatives of the late Mark Drexel London who was shot dead during an alleged attempted robbery in Kaneville on August 14, last.
The donation was made on Saturday when the Commander and his team visited London’s Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home.
While promising London’s mother, Yvette that his team is working assiduously to bring the perpetrator before the court, the Commander informed her that she can call him at any time of the day to find out about the process of the investigation.
Apart from the food items, the children in Mrs. London’s household and around the Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) community were presented with back to school items.
Also, starting this Saturday, the Commander said that girls between the ages of nine and 16 would be exposed to the training in painting and the art of tie dying among other skills.
The training will be done by his wife, Mrs. Indira Hicken, who recently completed a successful training programme with more than 100 children from Agricola, EBD.
The Commander also met with the parents of Eldon Sampson who was beaten to death by several persons last Friday when he allegedly snatched a bag, belonging to a teacher.
Hicken told Sampson’s parents that the Guyana Police Force is the only institution permitted by the law to bring the perpetrators of the wrongdoing to justice and that the Force would not ignore any type of vigilante killing of any citizen.
