Competition in the Victory Valley Royals 20th Anniversary Open knock-out basketball championship is set to bounce off tonight with a double header at the Mackenzie Sports Club, Hard Court.
In the first game at 19:00hrs, third seed Victory Valley Royals led by forward Chris Williams, Harold Adams, Orlando Glasgow and Marlon Pollydore takes on Block 22 Flames who as usual will depend on the seasoned Patrick Clarke and Keith Williams.
The second game at 21:00hrs brings together second ranked Amelia’s Ward Jets who will be without star centre Shane Lewis (on suspension) looking to the inside play of power forward Allister Webster and shooting of Rodwell Pellew to bring them victory against Bankers Trust Falcons, who will be led by Thornton Wilson.
Tomorrow night, the top ranked Kings are taking on Blueberry Hill in the first game at 19:00hrs while the second will pit together fourth ranked Retrieve Raiders against Half Mile Bulls. The respective winners will advance to the semifinals set for next Friday at the same venue with the overall winning club walking away with $70,000 while the second best team will collect $30,000.
