– Hit and run accident suspected
Police are still trying to identify the body of a man of East Indian descent that was found on Carifesta Avenue around 12:30 hrs on Saturday.
The victim, who appears to be in his forties, and had facial injuries, was clad in a pair of blue jeans and blue shirt. A seine was found a short distance from the corpse, leading to suggestions that the victim was a fisherman.
Police suspect that he may have been the victim of a hit and run accident since persons in the area recalled hearing a loud sound prior to the discovery.
“This looks like a hit and run because there is a cast net right next to him. Like he came out to fish and something hit him,” a source said.
