The 14th annual Clive ‘Breezer’ Nedd Memorial Football match is fixed for tomorrow at the GFC ground from 09:00hrs and all former National and Santos Footballers are invited to turn up at the venue before kick-off time.
Clive ‘Breezer’ Nedd collapsed and died in 1999 while playing his beloved Sport in the USA. His first stint in National colours was October 1972 when the Ken Gibbs led side toured French Guiana.
The following year, 1973, Nedd featured in two Internationals against Haiti at GSC Ground and a similar amount of matches at the same venue against Trinidad and Tobago. He also played in two matches against French Guiana at Malteenoes and GCC Grounds, respectively.
The Santos FC star defender was then part of the team that suffered a 5-0 drubbing in 1973 at the hands of the English Division Two side Hull City at the GCC Ground, Bourda.
Football fans can still recall ‘Breezer’ or the ‘Caribbean Fox’ coming up against his two sons Shawn and Brentnol when he played for the Senior National team against the National Under-21 side.
