Police in the interior are hunting for a Mahdia resident who they believe could shed some light on the murder of his brother, whose body was discovered yesterday along a trail at Blackwater Backdam, Konawaruk.
According to the police, the body of 20-year-old Nickel Leacock, of 111 Miles, Mahdia, was discovered at about 07:45 hours with suspected stab wounds.
Reports reaching this newspaper stated that Leacock and his brother were drinking with another man at a shop late Monday night. They eventually left the shop after it was closed for business.
Investigators are working on the theory that Leacock and his brother had an argument which might have led to a violent confrontation that turned fatal.
Leacock’s brother could not be located to be questioned by detectives.
They have detained the other man who was last seen with the brothers, but up to late last night he had not provided investigators with any vital information.
