– victim believed slain elsewhere
Police were up to last night investigating the apparent murder of a 26-year-old woman, whose body was found at De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara at around 23.30 hrs on Friday.
Pradika Persaud, called ‘Simone’, was found lying on a roadway with what appeared to be marks of violence to the neck. Investigators reportedly observed tyre tracks nearby, and believe that Persaud was slain elsewhere before being dumped at De Kinderen.
The victim was barefoot and was wearing a pair of short blue pants and black armless top.
Her brother, Hamid Khan, told Kaieteur News that his sister was a ‘heavy drinker’ and often wandered the streets at night. She reportedly has a son who was placed in the care of welfare officials some time ago.
Khan, who identified the body at the Ezekiel Funeral Home, said that he hardly saw his sister, who was reportedly in a common law relationship.
