Jamaica claimed their fifth Regional Women’s Super50 title by blowing aside Guyana by 218 runs in the final of the tournament at Windsor Park yesterday.
While Guyana finished as runners-up in the competition, Trinidad & Tobago placed third, defeating Barbados at Botanical Gardens. It brought an exciting tournament to an end in quite entertaining fashion.
Batting first Jamaica rattled up 309-7 off 50 overs. Natasha Mc Lean smashed 96, Chinelle Henry scored 85, Chedan Nation made 42 and Jodian Morgan 38. Hasena Mohamed snared 2-50, Akaze Thompson 2-61, Phaffiana Millington 2-66 and Heema Singh 1-29.
Guyana were bowled out for 91 in 32.4 overs in reply. Mohamed made19 not out, June Ogle made 17, KavitaYadram 15 and Katana Mentore 10. Vanessa Watts captured 5-21 and Alecia Bookal 2-17.
At Botanical Gardens, Trinidad & Tobago Innings thumped Barbados by 76 runs. Trinidad and Tobago scored 183-6 in 50 overs, taking first strike. Stacy Ann King top scored with 63, Britney Cooper made 38, Amanda Samaroo 23 and Anisa Mohammed 20; Aaliyah Alleyne picked up 3-35.
Barbados Innings were skittled for 107 in 33 overs in response. Deandra Dottin was their leading batter with 31and Kycia Knight contributed 28. Anisa Mohammed claimed 3-11, Stephanie Ramcharan 2-25 and Gaitri Seetahal 2-26.
St Vincent & the Grenadines beat Grenada by seven wickets. Grenada batted first and were bowled out for 98 in 33.4 overs. Debbie-Ann Lewis scored 18; Shavorne Clarke snared 4-18, Stacey Ann Adams 3-23 and Latoya Providence 2-8.
St Vincent & the Grenadines replied with 99-3 in 20.4 overs. Juliana Nero slammed 32 and Shavorne Clarke 13 not out.
