Guyana Football Federation
GFF Associations & Affiliates
Georgetown, Guyana.
Dear GFF Executive and GFF Associations & Affiliates:
At a meeting called and conducted by the Clubs of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) on Wednesday, August 06, 2014, we, the undersigned clubs of the Upper Demerara Football Association discussed the statement made by the Association and Affiliates of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in a letter to the Sports Editor (Guyana Chronicle, August 4, 2014).
As Clubs of the UDFA, we feel vindicated and heartened by the Association/Affiliates’ statement that ‘something fundamental was wrong with the procedures employed to suspend members of the UDFA’.
This statement acknowledges what we have always known to be true: that the decision to suspend the Executive of the UDFA was arbitrary to the GFF’s Constitution.
Further, it is an acknowledgement that this arbitrary decision has hindered rather than helped develop football in the Upper Demerara region.
Despite the GFF’s appointment of an Interim Management Committee to replace the suspended UDFA Executive, we, the Clubs of the UDFA, have never recognized this committee due to the
unconstitutionality of the decision.
Given this acknowledgement of erroneous decision-making by the Association/Affiliates of the GFF, we ask that efforts to remedy this situation be conducted in a speedy manner. The suspension of the UDFA Executive Committee must be lifted so that the Association can function as it was elected to perform.
Coming out of the meeting we the clubs of the UDFA, have identified Ms. Keneisha Dey and
Mr. Patrice Bynoe to represent our interests at the upcoming General Congress and on other occasions until this matter is resolved.
For the love of the Game
