Mix Up were crowned champions of the Deon Carter Birth Anniversary Dominoes competition after overcoming Specialist and Gangster in the final which was played on Wednesday night last at Gaulding Place South Ruimveldt.
Mix Up posted 78 games, while Specialist scored 76 and Gangster 68. Clarence Whitehead marked 17 and Gilbert Mendonca 14 for the winners. Shawn McKenzie notched up 16 and Andrew Hope 14 for the runner up team, while Hubbert Collymore and Sevens Collymore made 15 each for Gangsters.
Specialist overcame Mix Up and Strikers to win the semifinal played earlier at the said venue. Ken Wald led with 17 and Mark Rodrigues scored 16 as Specialist chalked up 81 games to finish ahead of Mix Up with 79 and Strikers 71. Mark Wiltshire scored the maximum 18 while Gilbert Mendonca made 15 for Mix Up; Carl Richardson scored 16 for Strikers.
Mendonca was given the most valuable player prize while Mix Up Collected a trophy and $175,000. Specialist received $75,000 and Gangster $35,000.
