In a release, the Guyana Baseball League has disclosed that they are very happy to make a donation of baseball equipment to the newest PONY Baseball family member in our region, Curacao, which is led by Mr. Thakaizdwa Doran.
The equipment will be used by children in the western part of Curacao at the Akademia di Beisbol Bandabou Tigers.
The GBL expressed gratitude for the assistance of InselAir the Flag carrier of Curacao and Captain Gerald Gouveia of Roraima Airways who made this donation possible.
The GBL has been fortunate to receive donations of equipment from PONY International League, various individuals and from a great American charity, Pitch in for Baseball which provides new and gently used baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the United States and around the world who want to play ball but lack the equipment to do so.
Donations are made by Young Americans like Evan Druskin who ask friends to give equipment in lieu of birthday or Bar Mitzvah gifts.
The Guyana Baseball League hopes that one day soon the children of Guyana and Curacao will play baseball and softball games in friendly competition as Insel Air continues to prove that it is possible to build bridges in the air.
The release noted that, Insel Air is happy to be a part of this initiative and would like to express its sincere appreciation to the members, founders and partners of the Guyana Baseball League. They are committed to the development of young sports persons within the Caribbean and fostering positive growth in the lives of youths.
