The Guyana Baseball League’s E-Networks Summer Baseball camp begins tomorrow August 4th, at the Queen’s College Ground, Georgetown. The venue will come alive with the crack of bats hitting balls and shouts of ‘play ball’. The schedule as follows: Practice: Mondays and Tuesdays: 9 AM TO 12 PM and 1PM -4PM Games: Fridays and Saturdays for those who attended practice.
All participants will be invited to join teams and participate in our age bracketed PONY Competition in the final week of holidays. As with all GBL activities participants are asked to bring a reusable water bottle and his/her lunch and snacks as needed.
Persons of all ages and genders are welcome to attend, learn and play this great game. Parents are encouraged to participate in games with their children. There are no attendance fees. E-Networks is very happy to continue its involvement with this growing sport and to assist the children in Georgetown to experience the joys of playing baseball and softball. Baseball and Softball are enjoying a surge in interest and participation and plans are proceeding apace for a pilot Georgetown schools programme beginning September and lasting until November.
Meanwhile, President of the Guyana Baseball League, Robin Singh, has indicated that Jamal Anderson is doing well and is adapting quickly to the demands of professional baseball. Anderson won the GBL tryout programme recently and was rewarded with a stint with the MLB Orioles Academy. Sing in a release noted, “We have been able through generous sponsorship to host camps such as these free of cost to participants, myself and the GBL are grateful to E-networks for the confidence shown n our organization.”
