Shakir XI defeated Superstar XI by four wickets in a 20-over softball fixture played
recently at Thirst Park. Batting first Superstar scored 225-5 in 20 overs. Jagdesh Persaud led with 81 and Navin Premchand cracked 65. The pair added 145 for the third wicket to stabilize the innings after they were reduced to 46-2. Beharry Rambharose claimed 3-25.
Shakir XI responded with 226-6 in 18.4 overs. Following the dismissal of Ashmead Bacchus for 40 and Diaram Persaud 37, Super Star brought themselves back into the game with three quick wickets, but Rambharose and Shivnauth put together 70 for the fifth wicket to seal the issue for their team. Rambharose, who was named man of the match, top scored with an unbeaten 49 while Shivnauth was the last man out for 39. Persaud snared 2-26 and Devindra Hemraj 2-30. The game was sponsored by Super Star XI.
