A man, woman and two children, yesterday escaped what appeared to be certain death,
following a horrific accident on Mandela Avenue.
According to reports, the driver of a Spacio PRR 6652 was speeding east along Mandela Avenue in the vicinity of the Ruimveldt well when a taxi pulled onto the roadway causing the Spacio to swerve.
The vehicle toppled and in the process broke through a utility pole and turned turtle in the adjoining canal.
The four were rescued from the overturned vehicle by a nearby wash bay attendant.
They were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where they were treated and sent away.
