Police are questioning several persons about the disappearance of the 34-year-old St. Stanislaus College teacher who disappeared without a trace two Sundays ago.
Investigators are also questioning the teacher, Nyozi Goodman’s paramour, who is said to be an army sergeant.
This newspaper was told that the police detectives also combed the army personnel’s vehicle in an effort to find “evidence” which will help them to locate the missing woman.
Goodman of William Street, Kitty, was last seen with another teacher at the National Sports Hall where she had taken a few of her students to participate in the Inter-Secondary Schools’ Basketball Championships.
There are reports that the teacher told her students that she would be staying behind as she expected someone to pick her up and take her home.
After that night there has not been any news of her since and investigators are questioning a number of persons, including friends, with the hope that they would be able to locate the woman.
Nestor Thompson, the missing teacher’s brother, had told Kaieteur News that he and his sister last spoke two Sundays ago and she informed him that she was going to the National Sports Hall.
That was the last time he made contact with her.
“My mother called me from Linden and asked when last I heard from her and I told her (that it was) on Sunday and then she told me that people were calling her and telling her that they could not get on to my sister.”
He added that he immediately went to his sister’s home where he met with the landlord. He went to his sister’s room and noticed that everything was intact.
The brother related that family members have already contacted all of the woman’s friends who were known to the family but none of them has any clue as to where she might be or who she might be with.
Anyone with information on the missing woman can contact family members on 692-4526 or the nearest police station.
