Several local umpires, who are expected to officiate in the upcoming Regional U-19 3-day
and 50- over tournament which is set to be played here from July 20 to August 10, had a briefing session yesterday at the Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL) Sports Club. The umpires discussed the playing conditions and the West Indies Cricket Board code of conduct for players and officials. They were also briefed on roles and responsibilities of match officials and reporting procedures.
Among the umpires that attended were Colin Alfred and Shannon Crawford as well as Guyana Cricket Board Territorial Development Officer Colin Stuart.
Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Windward Islands and ICC Americas are the teams slated to take part in the competition.
