Martin Dutchin stroked a blistering century as Trophy Stall hammered Friendship by 177 runs when the Rafman Ali Softball Tournament
continued yesterday at Everest Cricket Club. Dutchin, who reached the boundary on three occasions and cleared it fifteen times, slammed 121 and added 189 for the second wicket with Sewchan Budhoo to Lift Trophy Stall to 221-3 in 15 overs batting first in the open category. Budho scored 69 (8×6). Friendship were skittled for 44 in eight overs in reply. Fazal Rafiek and Delroy Perreira grabbed four wickets each.
Trophy Stall defeated Diamond All Star by eight wickets in their encounter. Diamond All Star were bowled out for 77 in 12 batting first. Rafiek and Sachin Singh picked up three wickets each while Kumar Bishundial had two.
Brickery overcame Friendship by three wickets. Friendship took first strike and made 103 all out in 13 overs. Antonio Jhaman captured 3-23 and Anil Mangar 2-17. Brickery replied with 104-7 in 11 overs. Kelvin Kanhai top scored with 56 and Mangar assisted with 18.
Grand Coast thumped Brickery by 55 runs. Grand Coastal made 93 in 15 overs taking first knock. Mangar bagged 5-16 for Brickery who were sent packing for 38 in 10 overs in response.
Renegade humbled Tradesman by 97 runs. Yunnis Yusuf cracked 69, Ricardo Latiff hit a robust 56 and Rawl Reid chipped in with 15 as Renegade managed a respectable 180-3 in 15 overs, taking first turn at the crease. Tradesman were restricted for 83 in 13.4 overs in reply. S. Khan made 27; Salman Ghanie captured 3-10, Talesh Ramotar 2-5 and Arjune Persaud 2-12.
In the over-40 category, Parika Defenders got the better of Uitvlugt by 59 runs. Parika Defenders rattled up 191 all out in 19.1 overs, batting first. Kabesh Persaud led with 40, while Ashmead Bacchus scored 38, Aftab Khan 26 and Kenrick Persaud 21. R. Perreira, G. McKoy and Raghunandan Narine snared two scalps each. Uitvlugt were bowled out for 132 in 15 overs in reply. Narine made 33, Eon Lovell 26 and Lionel Persaud 24. Sheik Ali, Kabesh Persaud and Devanand Khanna took two wickets apiece.
Andrew Art beat Parika Defenders by nine runs. Andrew Art batted first and scored 160-6 in 20 overs. Rafman Ali top scored with 39 and Vishnu Baljit contributed 34. Mohamed Safie claimed 3-26. Parika Defenders replied with 151 all out in 20 overs with Bacchus scoring 67; Leon Sankar grabbed 5-26.
