A fine half century by Safraz Ali handed Gafoor and Sons an eight-wicket victory over Banks DIH in a 10/10 tapeball contest on Friday night last at Thirst Park.
Ali and Brendon Ross added an unbroken third wicket stand of 56 to guide their team to victory in 9.3 overs for the loss of two wickets after they were set 92. Ali belted one four and eight sixes in scoring 63, while Ross ended on 20 (3×4). Rayon Joseph grabbed two wickets.
Earlier, Banks DIH batted first and scored 91-7 in 10 overs. They lost a few early wickets before Almando Doman 30 (4×6), Joseph 21 (1×4,2×6) and Preston Perreira 19 propped up the innings towards the end. Ali and Colin Benjamin grabbed two wickets each for the winners. Ali received the man of the match prize while, Gafoor and Sons took home a trophy.
