La Belle Hotel and Bar pre Caricom Day Dominoes tournament will commence on July 5 at the above named venue, Norton Street. Action gets underway at 15:00hrs and teams registered before double six time will be given a free entry. Thereafter teams will be required to pay an entrance fee of $6,000.
One re-entry will be accepted and the winning team will pocket a trophy and $90,000. The second and third place prizes are yet to be decided. The finals will be played on July 7 at the said venue.
The tournament was launched yesterday at La Belle Hotel and bar with a simple ceremony. Secretary of the entity Seizana Elliot presented a cheque of an undisclosed amount to secretary of the Georgetown Dominoes Association Mark Wiltshire. She noted that the sport is on the rise and hoped that the tournament will be successful. Elliot said they are pleased to be associated with Dominoes and wished the teams well. Wiltshire thanked the company for their input and informed that the tournament is expected to be an exciting one since some of the top teams in Georgetown are expected to participate.
