The GOA ‘Discover’ Open Badminton tournament which started on Saturday June 21 last at the Queen’s College Badminton Courts continued on Monday June 23 and is one of a series of events the GOA has planned during the month of June annually. Players participated from Guyana and China.
National Junior and Senior Champion, Caribbean & South American Champion Narayan Ramdhani teamed up with Nicholas Ali to capture the Men’s doubles title by defeating Noel Shewjattan and Jonathan Mangra. Ramdhani is also in the Men’s Singles and Mix Doubles finals set for Friday at 18:30hrs at QC.

Men’s Singles Semi-Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated Jonathan Mangra: 21-10, 21-14
Nicholas Ali defeated Avinash Odit: 21-17, 21-15
Men’s Doubles Semi-Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani & Nicholas Ali defeated William Holder & Avinash Odit: 21-7, 21-19
Noel Shewjattan & Jonathan Mangra defeated Steve Peng & Ian Xiong: 21-11, 21-10
Men’s Doubles Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani & Nicholas Ali defeated Jonathan Mangra & Noel Shewjattan: 21-17, 21-19
The tournament continues on Friday with the Finals for the Men Singles (Narayan Ramdhani Vs. Nicholas Ali) and Mix Doubles (Narayan & Priyanna Ramdhani Vs. Nicholas Ali & Ambika Ramraj).
