On the back of torrential rain over the last few days in the City, all of the Georgetown Cricket Association’s (GCA) Hadi’s World Incorporated and City Mall division one two-Day and Noble House Seafoods second division two-Day matches, scheduled for today and tomorrow, have been shelved.
In the Hadi’s World City Mall Inc first division, Police were set to Georgetown Cricket Club with Pritipaul George and Gavin D’Aguiar officiating while Everest were scheduled to entertain Malteenoes SC with Zaheer Mohamed and Edward Bowen doing on field duties.
In the other two division-one matches set for this weekend, Gandhi Youth Organisation were set travel to Demerara Cricket Club with Yosef Yisreal and Ryan Banwarie being the umpires and Transport SC should have faced GNIC at Malteenoes SC with Hortence Isaacs and Cyril Garnath being fixed to do duties on the field.
In the second division Noble House two-day competition GNIC were to play Transport at GYO, Police were to oppose Everest at MYO and Sophia were to clash with GDF at UG.
However, the games were called off yesterday after most of the venues were waterlogged up to late afternoon.
