David Mohamad was elected President, as several new faces were named to the Management Committee of the Lusignan Golf Club at its Annual General Meeting held last weekend at the Club House.
Dr. Philbert London is the new Vice President with Denise Best being elected Secretary and Haresh Tiwari – Treasurer. Ravi Persaud was elected Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, while Chatterpaul Deo will remain as Club Captain as well as Mike Gayadin Ground Superintendent.
The returning officer was Solomon and Associate Accounting firm, David Mohamad who previous served as Vice President last year and Secretary in 2012 and took over from Jerome Khan who did not seek reelection.
Outgoing President Khan in his Report said that the Club was in a good financial position and he thanked corporate Guyana for supporting the development of the Club.
“The Executive committee with the help of our valued sponsors and members hosted 30 tournaments, this represented an improvement over the previous year,” Khan declared.
President David Mohamad said he was delighted to be elected President of the LGC and looks forward to keep improving the club in all areas.
Mr. Mohamad announced that there are tournaments already slated in the coming weeks. Crown Mining Supplies has sponsored one for this Saturday, 7th of June 2014, the Scotia Bank Annual Tournament on the 14th of June and the Wartsila Guyana event on the 21st of June have all been scheduled.
