Quincy De Santos will Captain the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Under-19 Presidential team that will face Georgetown Second Division Champions, Republic Bank Nets this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from 18:30hrs in a supporting game of the Federation’s Inter Association Series which features Linden, Georgetown and Berbice teams.
De Santos has as his deputy, Jonathan Puran while the other players are Nathan Saul, Daniel Haynes , Marvin Durant, Daniel Ramlagan, Kelwin Griffith, Malcolm Powdar, Jeremy Jerrick, Tahquille Johnson, Kelvin Yorrick and Somesh Danram.
Naylon Loncke is the Coach with Herbert Adams as his assistant. The second game for the Presidential Team will be Sunday May 25 against Pepsi Sonics Second Division side and will also be contested at the Sports Hall at 20:00hrs when the GABF Inter Association series continues.
Only Under-19 players who are participating in training sessions conducted by GABF will be considered for selection to Guyana teams. Players who participate in training sessions as part of any regional or National Junior Squad or Team without the approval of the GABF are likely to be ineligible to play for any club under the umbrella of the GABF which references clubs affiliated to Georgetown, Linden or the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association.
The Guyana Under-19 squad will be expanded in June in preparation for the Inter Guiana Games (IGG) which is scheduled to be held in Guyana from July 25-29, 2014.
