Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) pulled off a successful and exciting Bingo on Saturday April 26 at the National Park in Georgetown. Close to 4,000 persons attended the event which was bigger than last year’s WOW Bingo.
The forty consolation prizes were quickly won, with multiple winners in several games. Prizes included a refrigerator, a freezer, bicycles, electrical appliances, hand tools and a box of chicken sausages.
Air Jamaica donated the special prize for the coupon drawing a free air ticket to New York. A team from the Jamaica based airline which has recently acquired a second aircraft, led by its Marketing Manager and two stewardesses made the presentation to the lucky winner.
The lucrative cash prizes for the cover-all games of $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 created the usual buzz and spine tingling moments. Just prior to the cover-all games, the club reduced the cost of bingo tickets from $1000 to $500. The three lucky persons left the Park several hundred thousand dollars richer than they were before the bingo event.
“The executive and members take this opportunity to thank all those who supported and participated in the event, including sponsors, donors, food and drink vendors, the Guyana Police Force and, of course, all the bingo players, young and not so young, male and female” Said PRO of the club Sherwood Lowe.
“Proceeds from the Bingo will go towards the completion of the internal renovations of the MSC building on Thomas Lands, Georgetown,” Lowe added.
The club, founded in 1902 by Barbadian Taylor Fernenad Archer, thanked all of their sponsors and added that this event could not have been a success without their generous support.
