A Region Three farmer was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) yesterday following an accident on the Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara Public Road.
According to reports, the injured man, who has been identified as Farook Mohamed, was proceeding east along the carriageway when the car he was driving slammed into another car at around 15:45hrs. Mohamed’s Toyota Premio then toppled twice before coming to a halt.
This newspaper was told that the Ruby Backdam resident had just left his stall at Bourda Market and was heading to a friend’s house when the accident occurred.
While the occupants of the other car escaped unharmed, this newspaper was informed that Mohamed may have fractured several parts of his body.
“He look like he bruk he left foot though, but me nah too sure. When dem done look after he and suh, then awe guh know wha really happen to he. Fuh now, we can’t really seh anything much,” a close family friend told Kaieteur News at the GPHC yesterday. Efforts to contact Mohamed’s wife were futile, however, up to press time, the farmer was said to be in a stable condition.
