A blistering 91 from Norman Federicks guided Jaguars to a nine – wicket victory over Golden Fleece when the South Essequibo Cricket Committee 40 overs tournament continued on Sunday last.
Playing at Golden Fleece, the host batted first and were bowled out for 140 in 25 overs. Raj Parbattie led with 71, while Federicks, Sherwin Abrams, Radu Persaud and Fezal Mohamed claimed two wickets each. Jaguars hit off the required target in 20 overs. Federicks smashed eight sixes and four fours in his innings, while Sher Khan made 29 not out.
At Pomona, Aurora Knight Riders took first strike and posted 182. G. Phillips led with 54 and Z. Ahamad 42. Bowling for Invaders Masters, Ragesh Gopal snared 3 for 28 off 5 overs and there were 2 wickets each for Linden Daniels and Nand Kishore.
Set a revised target of 135 from 22 overs due to rain, Invaders Masters ended on 131 for the loss of 6 wickets. Kazim Bacchus scored 43 and Indar Rampersaud supported with 22. Bowling for Aurora Night Riders, A. Maniram captured 3 for 17 off 4 overs and G. Phillips 2 for 26 off 5 overs.
