Sun Burst Camptown FC will open their two match tour of Bartica tonight when they oppose Mel Ballers in the feature game of a double-header at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.
Spearhead of the Campbellville-based contingent is former National midfielder and club captain, Troy ‘Bugs’ Prescod who will serve as player/coach for the trip. According to Prescod, “The squad is a youthful and talented one and this is a good opportunity to expose them and see what they possess”.
Midfielder Jamal Codrington will captain the side with the experienced Roshan Sandiford directing the defence along with Joel Badd and Adrian Adonis. Seasoned campaigner Devon Forde will be the main weapon in attack for the much accomplished City side.
On the opposite side of the pitch, the home side’s challenge will come from among midfielders, Kevon Dutchin, Amlee Martindale and Andre Stoby. The defence will be marshaled by Colin Hercules, Germain Christian and Anil Williams, while Delon Welch will lead the attack and Shawn Garraway will safeguard the citadel.
In the opening game set to kick-off at 6 PM, Five Star Beacon FC will collide with Potaro Strikers. The City side’s tour is being largely supported by Skyy Lounge Restaurant & Bar and ‘I’ Movement Promotions is the chief organiser. The tour will conclude on Phagwah night with another double-header at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.
