When play in the National Association of Women Football (NAWF) Under-17 eight-team Inter Secondary School competition continued on Tuesday last at the Den Amstel Community Centre Ground, Uitvlugt became the first team
to register a win.
They defeated St. John’s by a 2-0 margin with goals on either side of play and could have increased the scoreline were it not for fine goalkeeping by St. John’s’ Winette Small who denied a penalty kick taken by Uitvlugt’s Shemika Marcus.
On target for the winners were Suwanda Samuels in the 17th minute and Melinda Macey in the 61st minute.
Matches continued on Wednesday and yesterday.
