GUMDAC Annual Open Badminton tournament underway

The GUMDAC Annual Open Badminton Tournament started on Friday last at the Queens College Badminton Court.
The Events played were Men and Ladies Doubles and the Guyana Badminton Association was happy to see such a large turnout of players and spectators for the first tournament of the year.

Narayan Ramdhani (left) and Nicholas Ali were impressive.

Ladies Doubles Semi-finals:
Althea McDavid & Abosaide Cadogan defeated Angelica DaSilva & Krystal Peters: 21-10, 21-4
Men’s Doubles Quarterfinals:
Narayan Ramdhani & Nicholas Ali defeated Ronald ChangYuen & William Holder: 21-10,21-10
Raymond Khalil & Jason-Ray Khalil defeated Jonathan Mangra & Avinash Odit: 21-17, 21-19
Christopher Persaud & Noel Shewjattan defeated Joshua Singh & Hemraj Beharry: 21-4, 21-8
Gokarn Ramdhani & Darrell Carpenay defeated Marcellos Bhagwandin & Amil Alli: 21-11,21-8
Men’s Doubles Semi-finals:
Narayan Ramdhani & Nicholas Ali defeated Raymond Khalil and Jason-Ray Khalil: 21-6. 21-9
Christopher Persaud & Noel Shewjattan defeated Gokarn Ramdhani & Darrell Carpenay: 21-16, 21-18.
The tournament continued yesterday with several finals including Men and Ladies Doubles.
