– seven races carded for Seawall Bandstand
The eight annual George Cumberbatch Memorial Cycle Meet is once again set for the Seawall Bandstand today commencing at 09:00hrs.
Held to commemorate the memory of former National cyclist, George ‘Boy Blue’ Cumberbatch, today’s event will attract the best riders in the land who’ve so far been very active since the new season commenced.
Sponsors of the event, Clifford ‘Toto’ Johnson and George Humphrey of Humphrey’s Bakery & Farm Products, presented a cheque to the organisers, Roraima Bikers Club to offset expenses related with the staging of a successful Meet today.
Johnson, who is based in London, stated his pleasure once again for being a part of an event that seeks to keep the memory of his former friend and colleague alive. Marlon Humphrey on behalf of his family also expressed delight in being on board with the event for another year.

Juvenile/Junior/Category 4 5 laps
Categories 1-3 5 laps
Veterans Under-50 years 5 laps
Veterans Over-50 years 5 laps
Win and Out (Open) 8 laps
Feature event (Open) 30 laps (10 sprint prizes at stake)
Apart from the feature race, which will see the top six riders being rewarded with cash, the other races will see the top three receiving prizes.
