Now that the controversy surrounding the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) has been settled, the three clubs affiliated to the Body which is currently part of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) / Banks Beer 2013 / 14 Premier League, have assured the governing body of their continued desire to remain in the tournament.
Representatives of the three clubs Milerock, Winners Connection and Sliver Shattas along with officials of all the other participating teams attended a meeting which was summoned by the Federation to discuss the restart of the League which was put on hold to allow the two yearend competitions to be completed.
According to an official from the GFF, the games that were to feature Milerock versus Den Amstel and Silver Shattas against League leaders Alpha United will not be played at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground due to the facility’s authorites citing a prior booking rendering the ground unavailable to host the matches.
The Organisers were set to meet yesterday to discuss the next available option for the fixtures.
Meanwhile, Den Amstel’s Delon Lanferman with nine goals is the leading marksman so far in the competition, while five players are locked on seven goals apiece and they are Buxton United Clive Andries, Rosignol United Delroy Fraser, Alpha United Gregory Richardson, Western Tigers Hubert Pedro and New Amsterdam United Kelvin Joseph.
