Guyana’s leading youth and sports club, the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) has opened its membership to junior and female cricketers for the year 2014. The Cricket Development Committee headed by Office Manager Moonish Singh and Coach Winston Smith is inviting youths to join the club’s under-15, 17 and 19 teams, while females can apply to join the Metro Female team.
To be eligible, under-15 players must be born on or after September 1st, 1999, Under-17 – September 1st, 1997 and Under-19 – September 1st, 1995.
Females from the ages of 12-years-old up to the maximum of 30-years-old are also encouraged to sign up.
The club requires all its members to be disciplined, have a strong faith in the God they serve, must be prepared to work hard, be drug free and be committed to obtaining an educational background.
Club members would have access to club gears and be trained by a qualified coach. Educational materials would be provided, while they would be eligible to be part of the club’s multi-million incentive scheme at the Annual Award Ceremony.
Members would also be in a position to obtain personal cricket gears under the Basil Butcher and Western Union Cricket Ambassadors Programmes. Club management has stated that all players must be part of the entity’s Self Development Programme where over 80 projects are undertaken each year to make positive difference in the lives of youths, the elderly and less fortunate.
Meanwhile, Secretary/CEO of the RHTY&SC, Hilbert Foster has disclosed that they would shortly be unveiling their largest ever incentive scheme for its players.
Since 1991, the club has organised an Annual Awards Ceremony and in 2013 handed over $2.5M worth of trophies, medals and prizes to forty members. The 2014 Award Scheme would include a Cricketer of the Year Award of over $500,000 in cash and prizes, while special awards would also be shared out to the Runner-up Cricketer of the Year, Female Cricketer of the Year, Youth Cricketer of the Year, Bowler of the Year, Batsman of the Year and the most Disciplined Player of the Year.
A Press Conference would be hosted shortly where the full incentive package would be unveiled along with the sponsors.
The aim of the expanded incentive package is to inspire all the players to fulfill their potential while at the same time propelling the club to greater success.
