Since 2011, some 12 new housing schemes were earmarked for development, according to information tabled recently in the National Assembly by Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA).
At Herstelling, East Bank of Demerara, three schemes were established
during 2011-2012.
At Peter’s Hall, in 2012, another plot of land called Parcel 101, was also set for development.
Across at Providence, Parcel 85-87 was set aside for a remigrant scheme while Parcel 91-92 will become a moderate income housing area.
Father down north, at Eccles and at Farm, plots of lands have also been set aside also for schemes.
The remaining new schemes after 2011 are at Plantation Hope, Mon Repos, Bartica, Five Mile in Region Seven, and Amelia’s Ward, Phase 3, in Linden.
Meanwhile, at Diamond/Grove New Housing Schemes, the CH&PA is reporting that it has established a number of reserve sites.
In Little Diamond, there are three reserve sites, two public open spaces and one playground.
In Plantation Great Diamond, there are 15 reserve sites, three public open spaces and five playgrounds.
In the New Diamond Housing Schemes, there are five playgrounds and three reserve sites.
Reserve sites have been set aside in other housing areas.
According to the tabled information, at Herstelling, there are nine reserve sites.
A playground is set for Peter’s Hall while the Providence Remigration Scheme has four reserve sites for landscaping and aesthetics. The moderate income scheme at Providence also has three reserve sites and two playgrounds.
At Eccles there are two, while across at Farm, five reserve sites have been pinpointed.
At Mon Repos, there is one, while Bartica Five Miles has land for a playground and Amelia’s Ward, Phase Three has five reserve pieces of land.
