C 7 amassed 79 games to win the final of the Orin Joseph Memorial Dominoes competition which was contested Last Sunday at Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt. Providence placed second with 75 while TNT who drew the bye to the final finished third on 55.
Clarence Whitehead marked 17 and Colin Moore 16 for the winners while Deon Kelford and Junior Smith made 17 and 15 respectively for the runner up team. Sonia Goodluck and Trevor Smith chalked 15 each for TNT.
C 7 won the semi final with 77 games ahead of Providence with 71 and Transport Sports Club (TSC) on 59. Maurice Blacks was C 7 leading player with 16 games; Colin Jordan scored 15 for Providence and Clifton Nicholls 16 for TSC. C 7 received a trophy and $100,000, Providence collected a trophy and $40,000 and TNT a trophy and $20,000. The competition was played in memory of the late president of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) Orin Joseph.
Meanwhile, Mark Wiltshire and Faye Joseph will be hosting a tournament on Boxing Day, tomorrow, at Aruni Creek, Linden Highway starting at 13:00hrs. Entrance fee is $9,000.
