Retired Assistant Chief Education Officer, and respected Education Consultant, Dr. Maude Bullen-Mc Kenzie died on Saturday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after a period of illness.
Dr. Bullen-Mc Kenzie, a diabetic, suffered from other medical complications, which resulted in her death.
One source said that the cause was renal failure. She had been on dialysis but she was not responding due a blood clot, which according to reports, she had developed in her system. It was too late when doctors made the discovery.
Dr. Bullen -Mc Kenzie was purportedly taken to two hospitals before she subsequently succumbed at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) around 10:00 am on Saturday December 7, 2013.
In her tenure as an active educationist, she served on the University of Guyana Council and was a sought after Education Consultant.
She was 69 years old at the time of her passing.
