Amidst the brewing impasse in the horse racing fraternity the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA) has taken the initiative to summon an urgent general members meeting set for this Sunday, December 1, beginning at 10:30hrs at the Bush Lot United Turf Club, Sea View Park, West Coast, Berbice.
According to GHRA President, retired Chancellor, Justice Cecil Kennard, a number of topics are set to be discussed and high on the agenda will be the current impending impasse where a number of clubs and promoters have set race dates for the latter part of the racing season that seem to be clashing with each other.
A solution is set to be arrived at since most of the major players in the horse racing circle are expected to attend. A review of completed meets, registration and affiliation of the various clubs, classification and reclassification of horses, jockeys, trainers and horse owners association and payments are also part of the agenda.
Issues affecting horse owners and the present position with the horse racing legislation will also come up for discussion.
Justice Kennard stated that all the clubs, their representatives, jockeys, grooms of all the major stables and horse owners are expected to attend.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
