Tulsieram century propels Charity Sports to huge win
Terrence Tulsieram stroked an attacking century as Charity Sports defeated Lima by 90 runs when the W D’s Hotel and Mall T/20 cricket competition continued recently in North Essequibo.
Playing at Lima, Charity rattled up 196-4 taking first strike after the game was reduced to 15 overs. Tulsiram belted five fours and ten sixes in scoring 102 and got support from Kaisho Rooplall with an unbeaten 76 (7×6). Roopnarine Ramnarine claimed 2-23.
Lima were bowled out for 106 in 14.4 overs in reply. A. Latchman made 31 (2×6,3×4) as Ryan Tang snared 2-9, Tulsieram 2-16, Devin Thakurdeen and Roy Thomas 2 -20 each.
Gunners lost to Charity by 4 runs. Charity managed 110 before they were bowled out in 18 overs. Tulsieram scored 35 (5×4,1×6); Hemant Beharry bagged 4-6 and Siddique Mohamed 2-18. Gunners were restricted for 106-9 in 18 overs in reply. Navin Singh and Alex Lawry offered resistance with 18 and 17 respectively. Mahindra Singh and Tulsieram picked up 2 wickets apiece.
At Walton Hall, the host overcame Sparwin by 5 wickets. Sparwin took first strike and scored 131-5 in a match which was reduced to16 overs. Shane Paul top scored with 76 (7×4,6×6), while Kishan Narine contributed 32 (3×4,2×4); Uvindra Balgobin grabbed 3-34. Walton Hall responded with 137-5 in 15 overs. Suresh Persaud scored 28 (6×4) and Vishwanauth Lall 25 (3×6). Vishal Rambarran took 2-14 and Lakeram Harrinarine 2-19.
Young Achievers got the better of Lima by 3 wickets. Lima scored 183-6 off their allotted 15 overs with Abdool Salim top scoring with 45 (2×6,6×4) while Roopnarine Ramnarine made 38 (6×6) and Nimran Bahadur 36(4×4,2×6). Young Achievers replied with 184-7 in 14.5 overs. Carlos Yhap led with 63 (6×6); Andy Latchman picked up 2-15 and Rajeev Manichand 2-36. The game was reduced to 15 overs.
Gunners defeated Eagles by 48 runs. Gunners posted 184-7 after the overs were reduced to 18. Grayson Paul was their leading batsman with 58 (3×6,8×4) and Alex Lawry supported with 57 (4×6,6×4). Bharat Jaipaul claimed 2-31 for Eagles who were sent packing for 136 in 17.4 overs in response. Bharat Heeralall scored 31 (2×4,2×6), Suraj Lake 27 (6×4) and Jaipaul 22 (1×6,2×4). Prince Holder was the main destroyer with 4-16 while Paul had 3-18.
Charity thumped the host by 8 wickets. Walton Hall scored 140-9 in 17 overs, batting first. Suresh Persaud cracked 43(4×6,3×4) and Tameshwar Ramesh made 32 not out (3×6,2×6) as Terrence Tulsieram grabbed 4-19 and Roy Thomas 3-22. Charity replied with 143-2 in 15 overs. Tulsieram led with 54 (2×6,5×4) and Sanjeev Ramdeen 38 (2×6,2×4).
At Charity, the home team beat Yakishuru by 11 runs. Charity made 117-5 in 12 overs, taking first strike. Terrence Tulsieram smashed 63 (3×6,7×4), while Kaisho Rooplall chipped in with 30 (1×6,2×4); Jermin Smith claimed 2-19. The visitors mustered 106-7 in 12 overs in reply. Peabo Mc Donald with 42 (5×4,1×6) and Xavier Mc Donald 20 (2×6,1×4) were their leading batsmen. Ryan Tang captured 3-19.
