Knights, Patandin only new caps included
Leon Johnson will lead the Demerara team in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) four-day Inter-County cricket tournament against the President’s X1 at Enmore from Thursday and he will have as his deputy Chris Barnwell.
Test batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan has been included in the 14-man squad in which Police fast bowler Randy Knights and Everest batsman Chris Patandin are the only new caps selected.
The squad will be coached by Orin Bailey and Managed by Sherlock Atwell, while Tagenarine Chanderpaul, the 17-year-old son of prolific Test batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul was not considered since he would be away with the West Indies under-19 squad.
The full squad read: Leon Johnson (Captain), Christopher Barnwell (Vice-Captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Trevon Griffith, Rajendra Chandrika, Chris Pattadin, Derwin Christian, Steven Jacobs, Ameer Khan, Totaram Bishun, Trevon Garraway, Randy Knights, Zaheer Mohamed & Paul Wintz.
The standbys are: Ryan Ramdass, Vishal Singh, Robin Bacchus, Kellon Carmichael, Joseph Perry, Shemroy Barrington, Yatesh Dhanpaul, Andre Stoll, Jeetendra Sookdeo & Shaquille Williams.
