Everest, DCC grab first innings as Sattaur, Mc Ewan hit half centuries
Everest Cricket Club and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) grabbed first innings points from GNIC and
Sophia respectively when action in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Noble House Sea Foods second division 2- day tournament continued yesterday.
At GNIC, Everest Cricket Club batted first and scored 139 before they were bowled out in 46.4 overs. Riyad Sattaur scored a fighting 53 (5×4), Steve Ramdass supported with 22, Garfield De Roche and Wayne Walker chipped in with 18 and 16 respectively. Orlando Fraser was the pick of the bowlers with 3-38; Cavil Reece captured 2-8, Marcel Mentore 2-16 and Premchand Sookdeo 2-24. GNIC were skittled for 105 in 34.2 overs in reply. Stephan Campbell top scored with 39 (6×4) while Ryan Shun 25 and Dwight Dodson 10 were the other batsmen to reach double figures. De Roche and Raphael Singh bagged 3 wickets each for Everest who are leading by 34 runs.
At MYO, Sophia were bowled out for 50 in 22 overs, batting first. Miguel Vaughn was the only batsman the showed fight with 26 as Antonell Atwell snared 4-8 and Michael Shalim 4-16. DCC in reply declared on 270-8 after facing 47.2 overs. Cleon Mc Ewan was their leading batsman with 60 while Tevin Imlack scored 46, Leon Primo 42 and Shalim 39. Glenford Steven took 2-52 while there was one each for Delroy Thomas, Ronald Hercules and Malcolm Morris. Sophia were 8-1 at stumps, batting a second time.
